Costume Princess Party

magnificent gowns and dresses;
be sure to write on the invite that girls
can come in costume or bring their
favorite dress-up clothes with them.

Examples:

Disney Princess Party

Little girls love the Disney Princesses,
so find invitations that reflect their favorite princess characters.

Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle,
Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan

Party Games

Pin the tail on the unicorn.
This is a classic game that all kids love.
Instead of a donkey, use a unicorn cutout
and have each child take a turn
trying to pin on the tail while blindfolded.

Cinderella’s lost slipper.
This is a great treasure hunt game for an indoor or outdoor party.
Hide a glass slipper or some decorated high-heel somewhere and send the children to find it. The girl who finds the item gets a prize.

Treasure Hunt
Hide crowns, wands, bracelets, necklaces and other items. The girls can keep the items or trade each other. Be sure to keep extras incase there are girls that don’t find anything!

Musical Tiaras
Place a selection of tiaras on a table for guests to walk around as the music plays. When the music stops, the scramble begins to wear a tiara, and guests without one can become judges or help control the music until the game is finished.

Party Crafts and Activities

Make your own crown/tiara
Have the girls decorate their own crowns/tiaras. There are several ways to do this, and a visit to the local craft store can help. The crowns/tiaras can be cut from poster board ahead of time and then decorated at the party. Some great things to use for decoration include ribbon, glitter pens, markers, and stick-on gems. If you are not up for cutting out the crowns, you can also find many foam crowns and tiaras that can be decorated as well. It is so much fun seeing all of the children marching around wearing the tiaras and crowns they have created themselves at the party.

Magic Wand Decoration
Another idea for a craft is to have children decorate their own magic wands with glitter, stickers and ribbon.

Go the local craft store or Home Depot/Lowes and buy wooden dowels. Have them cut to 12-18” long and then paint them with gold or silver spray paint ahead of time.

Cut out stars from silver or gold construction paper. Use glitter, ribbon and stick on gems/rhinestones for the finishing touches.

Coloring Pages
It is also good to have some coloring activities for the children to do if they have finished their craft before the others children. Printed coloring pages of castles, princesses, etc that are found on-line or copied from a coloring book work well.

Makeovers
Turn ordinary maidens into extraordinary princesses with fun makeovers, including makeup, new hair styles, and glittery jewelry.

A Parade
Ideas for the princess party games should take into consideration the age and interests of the girls. The youngest set would enjoy being in a parade, all dressed up, posing and waving to the crowd. Take their pictures, and print them as a party favor. Let them decorate frames to put their princess pictures in.
